About the qualification

The New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Advanced Care and Support) Level 4 is targeted at individuals with significant experience in a health or well-being setting. This qualification is designed for those seeking to gain additional knowledge and skills to provide person-centred or relationship-centred care and support to individuals with complex needs and to demonstrate leadership capabilities and technical skills in the workplace.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to apply leadership skills in a health or well-being setting by formal or informal mentoring and/or coaching of colleagues

What will I learn?

  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and the whānau and/or family of individuals with complex needs to support their health and wellbeing
  • Support registered health professionals by carrying out delegated clinical tasks in a health or wellbeing setting
  • Apply knowledge of health or wellbeing conditions and organisational processes to implement culturally appropriate person-centred/relationship-centred approaches to care for and support a person with complex needs in a health and wellbeing setting
  • Communicate effectively in a culturally appropriate manner, including preparing and delivering reports and recording information as required by the organisation, and engaging in challenging conversation

What’s the enrolment process?

Step 1: One of our Skills Business Advisors/Partners will work with you to understand the needs of your team. We will provide a Statement of Work for you to sign and Training Agreements for your employees to complete and return.

Step 2: Our Delivery Lead will be in touch to onboard your employees into the programme. The onboarding will cover how to use the online learning platforms and who to go to for assistance.

What support is provided to the learner?

The learner will be supported by a Skills Ignite assessor throughout the programme.

What support is provided to the organisation?

You will have a Delivery Lead assigned to you. The Delivery Lead will support with any information you require on your people’s progress.
